Custom Orders and St. Brigid

So with my first week of graduate school (last semester ever) completed, I also have another custom order completed and sold! This bolero wrap I showed a little last week and here is the completed picture:

And yes, I do have enough yarn to make another one in the exact same color, so just hit me up for a custom order at Tangledmania Shoppe and click custom order request and we can chat that up. I used Paton's Classic, wool, and it is pretty soft and warm at the same time! :D

Also made up another Mesh Ruffle Lace Scarf, this time in a brown with a metallic copper edging to the lace.
Those scarves are made up so fast and go for $15 each, soft and fun stuff :D.

Last week I said I would be posting pictures of my St. Brigid sweater that I'm working on so here it is. It's not actually for sale, because due to the amount of work, yarn and time it takes to make one it would cost about $200 a sweater, but I do love the challenge! St. Brigid is a sweater designed by Alice Starmore and this particular pattern is found in the book Aran Knitting. This is a great book and gives you so many cable patterns so in all its a great resource no matter what.

In the future I'm hoping to start another double knitting project for a baby blanket as my cousin is expecting, so once I settle on a decision you'll get to see pics of that. Also, I will hopefully be posting a mid-week blog post about items in my shop that are due to expire as a listing in February. I'll post pictures and links, as well as a coupon code!

Stay warm out there, stay creative and stay in touch! What are you working on?

Getting Organized and Bolero Wraps!

Welcome back, folks!
Finished Stuff:
A few things were finished last week and placed on the shoppe. First we have a Reversible Moorish pattern cowl, made from Interlocking Crochet by Tanis Galik.

That was so much fun to whip up and available in alternate colors based on custom order, of course :D.

Next was my exploring into ruffle scarves, which I will continue because it was fast and uber-easy. First you can find the youtube video I used to learn how to crochet these scarves at this link here
And here is the Ruffle Scarf link to my shop, and a few pictures to enjoy (of course). These were seriously easy so give it a try!

In Progress:
Ongoing stuff is as always, ongoing. As always is my St. Brigid sweater, which is so much fun. The front and back are completed (decent pictures to come) and am slowly working my way up the sleeves. The interesting thing about sleeves is how you always have to know that its constant increases :D.

Next, I'm working on a long-sleeved bolero wrap. what this means is its pretty much a really long scarf knitted on size 17 straight needles that I will seam up the sleeves and it will wrap once around the neck or body and seem back down the other arm. Fun stuff huh? Here's some eye candy for that:

As you can see its straight garter stitch, but using the big needles makes it space out a little bit more than it would. Using worsted weight yarn, Paton's Wool. It's soft and warm and I will definitely be making this available regularly for the shop.

Future:
So pretty much just want to finish the bolero wrap this week and hopefully get some good pictures of the St. Brigid sweater and a shawl I'm designing (I know.. I'm so excited about it :D).

On other notes, Graduate classes start this week, my last semester ever (I hope) and I'm excited and nervous. Internship continues and hopefully by May I will be employed and actually receiving a paycheck, unlike right now as internships are unpaid.

So let me end with a link to the Tangledmania Shoppe on Etsy and a link to my Tangledmania Shoppe Facebook page. I hope to see you around soon and let me know what you're working on! :D

New Year, New Shoppe, New Stuff!

So whether many of you are aware, I've been busy running an etsy shop over the past few months called Tangledmania Shoppe. I've had 3 sales and currently have two more custom orders in the works!

With all of that in mind, I've decided to use this blog as a more "here's what I'm doing" then I can do on my facebook page for my shop and a "who I am". I'll post pictures of what I'm working on for the shop and what I'm working on for family as well, because I love custom orders and anything you see me working on is up for a custom order request any time at all!

This past week I had ordered yarn from Joann.com (which is taking a tad too long in my opinion, I really need to stick to Webs in North Adams, MA - yarn.com). While waiting for the yarn and needles, this is what I'm working on :D.

It will end up being a small cowl, pretty huh? The pattern is from the book "Interlocking Crochet" by Tanis Galick. I have to give fair warning, though, I found the pattern instructions good to get me started but then put it down and when I came back I went by eye, so the book may not be for the faint of heart haha.

Anywho, more to come. Feel free to check out my Facebook page Tangledmania Shoppe and say hi.

Be well and happy new year!! :D
